The Madison County Housing Rehabilitation Programs correct housing violations, improve energy efficiency, provide a safer and healthier environment, and reduce the maintenance burden for low and moderate-income homeowners.
Housing Rehabilitation funds must be used to eliminate safety and health violations, which may include lead hazard reduction, heating, plumbing, electrical, painting, and roofing. After rehabilitation, the property must meet HUDs minimum Housing Quality Standards. Emergency Rehabilitation may be available if serious safety and health violations immediately threaten residents.
