Headed by the Regional Superintendent of Schools, this Office serves as the liaison between the local public school systems in Madison County and the Illinois State Board of Education. The main functions of this office include:
Supervision of operations of school boards and administrators.
Disbursement of State funds to schools.
Examination of the financial records of each school treasure and bonding of treasures.
Keeping records and reports on all schools and submitting and annual report to the State Superintendent of Education.
Administering teacher examinations, conducting teacher's institutes, and administering the high school equivalency test (G.E.D.) and U.S. and State Constitution tests.
