*** FLOOD PROCLAMATION***
Governor Pritzker has declared a disaster area for Madison County in the State of Illinois and issued a Gubernatorial Proclamation on May 3, 2019.
In accordance with this proclamation, The Chief County Assessment Office will make available the Form PTAX-245, Disaster Area Application for Reassessment, for taxpayers to apply for reassessment. The form is available on the Chief County Assessment Official’s website and may also be picked up at your Township Assessor’s office or in our office.
The Chief County Assessment Officer, upon application by the property owner, will reassess any taxable property in the County which was substantially damaged by the disaster. In the reassessment, the value of the property shall be determined as of the date of the declaration of the County as a major disaster area.

MADISON COUNTY FARMLAND REVIEW COMMITTEE
On Tuesday June 4th 2019, the Madison County Farmland Review Committee will review the 2020 proposed farmland valuation procedures and values. This Public Hearing will be held according to the Illinois Property Tax Code 35ILCS 200/10-120. The proposed farmland valuation procedures and the equalized assessed values proposed by the Department of Revenue for 2020 will be presented and discussed.
The Public Hearing will be held on June 4th 2019, at 9:30 a.m. at: Madison County Administration Building

The public is always welcome to visit the Madison County Chief County Assessment Office weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or to call us at (618) 692-6270, in order to take advantage of our services.
Our staff can answer questions regarding the calculation of property record cards and the verification of property ownership. We can assist those wishing to view or compare sales of properties throughout the county. Aerial and ink-line maps are provided to view or to purchase. Applications for all exemptions are available in the office, and our staff can provide assistance in the filling out of these forms.
