The mission of the Madison County Domestic Violence Accountability Court (DVAC) is to increase victim safety and offender accountability, promote informed judicial decision making, and address the needs of victims and their families. 

What is DVAC
The DVAC is comprised of dedicated Domestic Violence Criminal and Civil Courts under the supervision of Chief Criminal Judge Richard Tognarelli. The DVAC hears all intimate partner domestic violence related cases, as well as Orders of Protection associated with pending domestic violence criminal cases. The Domestic Violence Criminal Court adjudicates all appearances of misdemeanor and felony cases, from class C misdemeanors through class X felonies.  The DVAC is designed to streamline offender accountability and compliance monitoring practices to help reduce recidivism.
