Illinois Tobacco Quitline (ITQ) is a statewide call center to assist with smoking cessation for residents. It was established in 2001 by the Illinois Department of Public Health funded with Master Settlement Agreement dollars and administered by American Lung Association. ITQ has nurses and respiratory therapists trained in the Mayo Clinic Model available to answer calls and live chats from 7:00 am- 9:00 pm (CST) M-F and 9:00 am- 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Voice messages can be left and will be returned the next business day. Residents of Illinois can call ITQ (free!) as often as they want to receive information and counseling while they are contemplating quitting, trying to quit, and maintaining their quit status. For more information about ITQ or to chat live, visit http://www.quityes.org/
