The collection is for residential waste only. No business waste will be accepted.

  • Accepted materials include: oil based paints, pesticides, cleaning solvents, paint thinners, hobby chemicals, antifreeze, pool chemicals, household batteries, items containing mercury (i.e. thermostats, thermometers), herbicides, motor oil, old gasoline, lawn fertilizers/chemicals, used/empty propane tanks, lead acid batteries, and fluorescent lights.
  • Items not allowed for disposal include latex paint, used tires, ammunition, agricultural wastes, explosives, fireworks, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, farm machinery oil, business or biohazard waste.

Since latex paint isn’t accepted, what should you do with it?
Latex paint is not considered a hazardous waste since it is water-based. As long as the paint in the can is dry, it can be thrown away in your regular trash bin. If there is still liquid paint inside the can, you can speed along the drying process by leaving the lid off or by adding shredded newspaper or clay kitty litter. Once everything is dry, you can put the lid on and throw the can away. Click here for an instructional video.
