Madison County Code Adjudication Hearing Officer

Responsibilities

The officer presides over the adjudication of
  • Violations of county ordinances regulating the abatement of public nuisances
  • The accumulation, disposal and transportation of garbage and refuse
  • The construction and maintenance of buildings and structures
  • Sanitation practices 
  • Zoning

to the extent permitted by the Illinois constitution.  This program has been highly effective for obtaining more timely compliance and reducing the case load for the State's Attorney Office and the courts at a low cost.

Madison County Flood Prevention Committee

Repair and reconstruction of the Levee Systems: To establish budgets, plans, designs and priorities for the improvement of area levee systems.

Funding the Levee Protection System Improvements: To use the dedicated sales tax revenues to issue bonds, notes or the debt to finance the repair and construction. 

Seek other funds from federal, state and local governmental or private agencies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities
The Housing Authority is responsible for the administration of public programs and funds to improve housing assistance options in Madison County. Madison County provides rental assistance vouchers through a program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Housing Choice Vouchers allow income eligible families, individuals, elderly persons, and persons with disabilities to live in decent, affordable rental units.

Meeting Schedule
Board Meetins are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month unless there is a need for change.  Meeting location is 1609 Olive Street, Collinsville, IL at noon.

Responsibilities
State legislation requires Health Departments that were created by resolution to create a health advisory committee that is made of health professionals for the purpose of advising the County’s Board of Health. They ensure that all state laws and county ordinances regarding the preservation of health are upheld through observation and enforcement. To this end, the Board of Health authorizes and executes any necessary health inspections and investigations in the county. The Health Advisory Committee is chaired by the Executive Director for the Health Department

They provide expert knowledge and advice to the Board of Health and the Health Department regarding public health policies and issues along with advice on strategic initiatives related to public health.
